History of Centerville Church

In 1877, a committed group of Christians began meeting together as the Church of Christ in Centerville, laying the foundation for a faith community that would grow and serve the town for generations. They moved into our current building in 1884, having purchased the property for just $12.50. Our beautiful belfry and bell, which rings every Sunday morning to call us together, were added a few years later. The Christian Ladies Aid Society was organized in 1908 to support the church financially and to broaden the church’s benevolence outreach to more people in need. The parsonage, adjacent to the church building, was added in 1915.

Operating as an independent, non-denominational church, Centerville Community Church has faithfully held worship services each Sunday since the very beginning. Traditional and contemporary touches now blend together to create a warm, welcoming space that we hope you will enjoy.
